9 May 2007: On a beautiful sunny spring day, HRH Princess Anne came to Pedn Billy beach to watch the Helford River Children’s Sailing Trust in action and to meet children and volunteers.

Joanna Tisdale, HM Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for All Cornwall 07, is a fregular Volunteer with Mabe School where Joanna learnt to sail. When 11 years old she helmed the Founders Dinghy ‘Cicely’ to come 2nd in the DOGS Ladies race!

In his speech John Green said: “Participants all share a belonging, loyalty and fellowship. For many it is their first opportunity in life to savour the delights of our river.”
