A big thank you to everyone who took the trouble to vote for HRCST’s entry in the Aviva Community Fund competition last year. We applied for £25,000 to build a floating classroom and we managed to get 4,198 votes. We didn’t win but we gained a huge amount of positive publicity from this national, high profile competition and we plan to try again next time!
Louise Aspinall’s Marathon Challenge
Trust supporter Louise Aspinall will be raising funds for the Trevassack Lake Floating Classroom by running the Bournemouth Marathon on Sunday 7 October 2018.
The purpose-built, glass-bottomed boat will enable children with severe disabilities to experience being out on the water and view the underwater world of the lake for themselves.
Louise wanted to support the project after hearing about the floating classroom through a friend: “Being a mum of two I have experienced first-hand the enjoyment children get from being in the water outdoors. It would be wonderful for all children to be able to gain new experiences on the water in a safe environment.”
Louise has is a volunteer running activator in her spare-time and works for the fantastic This Girl Can campaign inspiring others to get fit and have the confidence to run.
