Margaret Green very kindly hosted a party at Calamansac in Port Navas on Sunday 6th August to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Trust. John Green, Margaret’s late husband, started HRCST at Calamansac in 1997 with a few boats and a lot of determination and enthusiasm. Today the Trust operates over 80 boats and teaches more than 600 children each year. The co-chairman of the Trust, Richard Nathan, recalled some of the early days and said how proud John would have been to see where the Trust is now and the big plans we have at Trevassack Lake on the Lizard. Guests at the party included some of the early volunteers who had helped John to get the Trust going, including Alison Collins who was the principal and chief instructor for many years. Many of the Trust’s current supporters and volunteers were also at the party together with several members of the Green family.
