How do we make a difference?
Young people of all abilities gain a huge boost in confidence from taking part in sailing and water sports. It’s a transformative experience that starts them on the road to independence and achievement.
Almost all who participate would have no opportunity to take part in an activity of this kind without the Trust.
What we do?
HRCST teaches watersports and life skills simultaneously through fun games and exercises. Our activities are geared to each young person’s ability: whether that is learning to sail or race single-handed, kayaking or rowing on the water. Understanding where every child and vulnerable young adult’s comfort zone lies allows us to stretch and challenge them to grow their resilience and confidence. Every person is stretched and encouraged.
Our programme is delivered to whole class groups from primary schools and schools for children with special educational needs and disabilities, which means it is accessible to children from all backgrounds.
How you can support us
We are growing! There is more demand than ever for lessons on the river. In addition, our plans to create a National Centre of Excellence for Watersports for ALL at Trevassack Lake will allow us to provide more activities for young people with special needs and disabilities.
With every contribution made, you are helping to fund valuable, life-changing experiences for the children and young people taking part.
Thank you for your support.
